Chain traffic accident on TEM Highway in Silivri: 5 people injured

According to obtained information, the sad traffic accident occurred around 17.00 in the evening in the Büyükçavuşlu location, in the TEM Highway Büyükçekmece direction, towards Silivri. In this region, where there was a heavy traffic flow, a chain accident occurred as a result of three vehicles traveling in the same direction colliding with each other in a way that has not yet been fully elucidated. The event, which caused great panic and fear in the vicinity with its sound and sight, was noticed in a short time upon the request for help from drivers and passengers.

Upon the emergency calls of citizens passing by the accident site, a large number of security and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews, who arrived at the area immediately after the event, prepared the necessary interventions against the risk of being trapped or injured in the vehicles, while health teams brought the condition of the injured under control in the first stage. Gendarmerie teams, who came to the scene, created a security cordon around the vehicles involved in the accident and also provided controlled management regarding the flow of traffic.

Following detailed health screenings and first interventions at the scene, although there were no fatalities in the accident, it was determined that the condition of at least 5 people who had fractures, scratches and blows on their bodies was serious. These injured people were taken to the nearest health institutions by ambulances brought to the scene as a result of the meticulous work of health personnel and were taken under treatment. However, no official statement has been made yet from hospital sources regarding whether the injured have life-threatening conditions.

Work was started to eliminate the negativity caused by the accident. The vehicles involved in the chain traffic accident and forced to stop on the road were removed from the scene with the help of tow trucks called to the region. After the vehicles were cleaned from the road, the vehicle traffic, which was disrupted for a while due to the accident, returned to its normal course. With the safety of the road being ensured again, the drivers continued on their way.

The investigation process regarding the incident was officially started as of today. All details such as the cause of the accident, the fault status of the drivers, the technical equipment of the vehicles and the road condition were taken into examination to be reported by the gendarmerie teams. Experts warned drivers, especially on the highway, to pay attention to the following distance and obey speed limits, emphasizing that traffic rules must be strictly adhered to in order to prevent similar tragedies.
