US Central Command: 90-minute air operation conducted against Iran's defense facilities

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it completed its operations against military targets in Iran on the morning of 15 Temmuz. Accordingly, coastal defense systems on Büyük Tunb Adası, facilities storing cruise missiles, and missile launch sites were struck with precision weapons. The approximately 90-minute operation was stated to aim at weakening Iran's capacity to threaten commercial ships passing through the Hürmüz Boğazı.

The developments occurred on the fifth day of renewed escalating tension between the US and Iran. While tensions rose in the region as part of the US's reimposed naval blockade against Iran, civil warnings were issued in Bahreyn and Kuveyt against potential missile attacks originating from Iran. Meanwhile, the Iran Devrim Muhafızları claimed to have targeted facilities belonging to the US Beşinci Filosu in Bahreyn, destroying the headquarters and fuel depots there.

Iranian officials confirmed that more than 30 civilians lost their lives in recent US attacks on the country's south. Iranian sources announced that 13 missiles were used in an attack on the Bombor barracks and 7 soldiers belonging to the 388'inci Tugay were killed. While no official statement has been made by the US or Bahreyn regarding Iran's counterattack claims, no confirmation has come from independent sources either.
