Gendarmerie operation in Afyonkarahisar: 46 suspects caught, 17 arrested

Afyonkarahisar Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted a large-scale operation across the province between 6-12 Temmuz 2026 to apprehend wanted individuals. A total of 46 people wanted for various crimes were detained during the operations, which involved road checkpoints and patrol activities.

Among the captured suspects, 2 are wanted for intentional homicide, and 5 each for fraud and theft. Additionally, 3 suspects each were apprehended for narcotics and sexual offenses, 4 for smuggling offenses, and 24 individuals wanted for various other crimes.

Out of the 46 suspects referred to the courthouse, 17 were arrested by the court they were brought before. While the arrested individuals were handed over to the penal execution institution, it was reported that the operations continue across the province to apprehend wanted individuals.
