Knife attack on security guards at Antalya Otogarında: 2 injured

In the incident that occurred at noon at the Antalya Şehirlerarası Otobüs Terminali, an individual started an argument with security guards. The argument that broke out for an unknown reason quickly escalated into a serious fight and a chase. This incident, which took place in the Yenidoğan Mahallesi section of the terminal, caused great fear and panic among other passengers and employees at the terminal.

As the argument intensified, the assailant M.E.P. returned to retrieve a knife he had hidden inside a sack containing materials that he had left outside earlier. The individual, who approached the security guards again with the sharp object in his hand, launched an attack this time. In these moments, which were also reflected on the security cameras at the scene, the situation became even more dangerous as the person turned towards the officers with the knife in his hand and a scuffle began.

As a result of the brief scuffle between M.E.P. and the terminal staff, it was understood that a security guard received a sharp object blow and the situation required urgent support. After a notification was made to the 112 Acil Çağrı Merkezi, many police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams arriving at the scene tried to neutralize the suspects and provide first aid to the injured person.

Although the attacker tried to flee the scene, he was followed by other security guards working at the terminal. As a result of the chase that continued outside the terminal, the person was caught and neutralized, while a security guard was also slightly injured in the arm. Police teams detained the attacker M.E.P. and F.G. with him, initiating legal proceedings. The knife, the weapon of the crime, was also taken into custody by the police as evidence.

The injured security guards D.E. and E.D. were taken to Antalya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesine by ambulance after the initial intervention of the health teams at the scene.
