Astérix Park Prepares for Summer with a Dazzling Drone Show

Fransa's famous amusement park Astérix is making a major innovation in its night shows for the 2026 summer season. The new show called "Astérix ve Yıldız İksiri", which will mesmerize visitors during these summer months, promises an experience far beyond traditional fireworks displays. Running from 11 Temmuz to 30 Ağustos, this massive visual spectacle aims to provide an unforgettable closing for the park's guests looking to shake off the fatigue of the day. The massive show to be staged over the lake stands out as one of the finest examples of the perfect combination of modern technology and the entertainment world. The event transcends being just an amusement park show, transforming into a technological work of art.

The most striking feature of the show is the use of exactly 370 drones dancing synchronously in the sky. These drones create gigantic images of beloved comic book characters and iconic scenes from the story in the air, virtually mesmerizing the audience. To enhance the impact of the visual spectacle, 50 water fountains and impressive fireworks displays have been integrated into the show. All these visual elements combine with a special musical backdrop featuring the voices of the park's beloved characters, offering a multi-dimensional experience. Thus, the audience becomes fully immersed in the Asterix universe, both visually and aurally.

Behind this massive technological organization are the park's own creative team and the Reims-based Magic Drone company. It was stated that before staging the show, the teams worked on 3D modeling on computers for five months. Production manager Florian Gady states that, unlike previous years, they focused on telling a real story in this show. Cult scenes taken from the comic book, such as the Romans' attack, the preparation of the magic potion, and the pirate ship, are virtually brought to life in the sky via drones. It is also noted that even the famous wild boars are not left out of this flawless choreography, highlighting the attention paid to detail.

The management of this flawless show, which will last approximately ten minutes, is meticulously carried out by a flight director and their two assistants. However, as with outdoor events, this technological show must also be prepared for some challenges brought by adverse weather conditions. Authorities explicitly state that if the wind speed exceeds 36 kilometers per hour, the drones cannot be flown for safety reasons. To prevent visitors from being disappointed in such adverse situations, it is planned to present the show with an alternative version using more water screens and fireworks. Florian Gady also adds that they hope a special Christmas version of this show, adapted for the New Year, will meet the audience in the future.

For guests wishing to watch the show, the park has established special time slots adjusted for different periods of the summer season. Until the last week of Temmuz, the show starts at 22:45 in the evening, while between 20-31 Temmuz this time is updated to 22:30. Throughout Ağustos, the event will be presented to visitors at 22:15 as the day gets darker earlier. The park, located in Plailly, continues to be one of the centers of attraction for both local and international tourists with this innovative step. It is evident that such events, combining technology and storytelling, pave the way for future amusement park concepts.
