In line with Europe's goals to reduce its dependence on Russian natural gas, Türkiye's potential as an energy terminal and transit country is exceedingly high. In transporting Caspian Sea and Middle Eastern resources to Europe, Türkiye offers one of the safest and shortest routes. Furthermore, regarding the management of irregular migration crises, Türkiye functions as a buffer zone protecting Europe's internal borders by hosting millions of asylum seekers. For this reason, cooperation between Europe and Türkiye is of vital importance in bringing migration flows under control and ensuring energy supply diversity.
