Armed attack on workplace in Bahçelievler: 1 dead, 1 critically injured

One person lost their life and another person was critically injured in an armed attack targeting a business located in Istanbul's Bahçelievler district. The incident occurred at a workplace on İzzettin Çalışlar Caddesi. According to information obtained, two masked suspects whose identities have not yet been determined came to the workplace and opened fire. Following the attack, the perpetrators quickly fled the scene and vanished. As a result of the examination of security cameras and surrounding security teams, a large-scale operation was launched to capture the suspects.

Two individuals who were critically injured during the incident were taken to nearby hospitals after the initial intervention by health teams dispatched to the area. Despite all medical interventions by doctors at the hospital, Ali Kölemen, one of the wounded who is registered in the population of Çorum's Boğazkale district, could not be saved and passed away. After the procedures were completed, the body of Kölemen, who lost his life in the attack, was sent to his hometown of Boğazkale. It was learned that Ayşe İnan, the other injured individual, continues to receive treatment at the hospital and her life-threatening condition persists. Health officials stated that İnan's condition is extremely critical and she is being kept in the intensive care unit.

Police teams arriving at the scene launched a detailed investigation at the workplace where the armed attack took place. During the criminal investigation, a total of 10 empty casings, 9 millimeters in diameter, were seized at the scene. In line with these findings, security forces are considering the possibility that the attack was not a coincidence, but rather a planned assassination or settling of accounts. Crime scene investigation teams continue to collect evidence such as fingerprints and DNA samples. Additionally, security cameras in the area are being examined to determine the suspects' movement route and the vehicle they used.

The body of Ali Kölemen, who lost his life, was laid to rest in his hometown of Boğazkale following the funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer. Relatives and loved ones who attended the funeral ceremony burst into tears for Kölemen, who lost his life at a young age. Kölemen's sudden death deeply saddened both his family and his acquaintances in the area where he lived. While a profound sorrow was observed to dominate the ceremony, it was noted that intensive security measures were not taken at the area. Kölemen's loved ones demanded that the perpetrators of the incident be brought to justice as soon as possible.

A comprehensive investigation has been launched into the incident under the instruction of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Police teams are continuing their large-scale operations in neighboring districts to identify and capture the two fleeing masked suspects. In order to shed light on the background of the incident, possible connections between the suspects and the victims are also being investigated. This armed attack incident has once again sparked public debate regarding the general security and public order of the city. Authorities announced that the incident will not remain unsolved and that the attackers will be caught and brought to justice as soon as possible.
