Minister Memişoğlu: A 300-Bed State Hospital is Coming to Aksaray, Foundation to be Laid Within 6 Months

Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, during his official visit to Aksaray, first made inspections at the Governorship and received information about the work from authorities. Then, addressing the press, the Minister stated that they are inspecting health investments on the ground across the country within the scope of the 'Century of Türkiye' vision. Emphasizing that Aksaray is an ancient city with a historical and scientific accumulation, he expressed that they will work with all their might to strengthen the health infrastructure here. Memişoğlu made a detailed assessment of the city's current situation in health services and future projects and informed the public.

As the second stage, the Minister of Health shared the details of the 300-bed hospital project planned in Aksaray city center and spoke about what the building will add to the city. He gave the good news that the project has been prepared to meet the new capacity needed in addition to the existing 800-bed Training and Research Hospital, and the construction tender has reached the final stage. The Minister said that following the completion of the planning, the foundation of the hospital will be laid at the latest within six months and it will enter service for the people at the beginning of 2027. In addition, he announced that the hospital project in Eskil district has been completed and the tender process will start soon, and that a new hospital planning for Ortaköy district will be implemented.

Thirdly, Minister Memişoğlu emphasized that health investments are not limited to the construction of buildings, and that protecting human health is also among their priorities. Stating that society should apply to health facilities not only when they are sick but also to stay healthy, he drew attention to the importance of preventive medicine. He reminded that Family Health Centers, Healthy Life Centers, and Community Health Centers offered by the Ministry of Health are at the disposal of citizens. He expressed that it is possible to get free support from experts such as dietitians, psychologists, and physiotherapists at these centers.

The Minister revealed with statistics that approximately 65% of the society struggles with weight problems and sedentary lifestyle poses serious risks. He stated that the Aksaray visit was productive in terms of both physical investments and the messages given to improve public health. With the new hospitals planned to open in 2027, he confirmed Aksaray's goal of becoming a regional center in health tourism and service quality.
