Large number of Palestinians injured in settler attacks in West Bank

The tragic events that took place on Friday in various parts of the West Bank, especially in Occupied Jerusalem, have once again revealed how high the tension in the region is. Fanatic Jewish Jewish settlers, backed by the protection of Israeli occupation forces, carried out a systematic act of violence against Palestinians. According to reports by Sana agency, a large number of Palestinians were shot during these attacks, while dozens of youths were subjected to detention operations. It is understood from the details of the events that the settlers not only applied physical violence to the citizens but also damaged their property and livelihoods.

One of the harshest examples of the events took place east of Tubas. According to local sources and notifications from the WAFA agency, four Palestinian civilians were injured as a result of an attack carried out here. The targets of the attackers were not only people but also animals, which are the livelihood of the region's people. A similar picture was encountered in the town of Idna, attached to the Hebron district. A group of angry settlers forced their way into the eastern parts of the town and attacked the landowners and citizens there. The group's main aim was to steal by seizing the lands in the region and the sheep flocks there, but they faced resistance from the local people.

Palestinian Red Crescent President Ammar Temizi described the savagery of the attack in detail in his statement. It was stated that the physical attacks of the settlers on the civilian population were carried out with the open support of the Israeli army. Occupation forces dispatched intense military force to the area to protect the settlers and evicted the landowners from their own lands. Meanwhile, the army opened intense fire with rubber bullets and sound bombs to disperse the crowd in the area. As a result of these attacks, a young man was injured by a rubber-coated bullet hitting his back, while two elderly men trying to protect their sheep were beaten and suffered various bruises.

Another point where the events flared up was the village of El-Tabbane, located east of occupied East Jerusalem. In this region as well, settlers and occupation soldiers organized a joint attack against the villagers. When the villagers tried to prevent the theft of their flocks, two young men were beaten and injured. During the intervention, Israeli military forces raided the village and violently detained four more youths who were trying to protect their own sheep. The Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that the youths were detained without any legal process, simply for defending their lands and animals.

These recent events constitute only a part of the Israeli occupation forces' daily violations in the West Bank. Since the early hours of Friday, the occupation army had launched a large-scale raid and detention operation targeting different points of the region. Within the scope of these operations, three more Palestinians were forcibly detained from various settlements in the West Bank. The increase in both detentions and settler attacks causes the already fragile balance in the region to be completely disrupted and puts civilians in increasing danger in daily life.
