Denial from CHP Member Barış Yıldız Regarding 18 Million TL Debt Claims

Elected Provincial Chair Barış Yıldız of the CHP Malatya İl Başkanlığı made an important statement regarding the 18 million lira debt claims that have been widely discussed in the public recently. Yıldız, arguing that the debt information put forward and announced to the public by the previous administration absolutely does not reflect the truth, claimed that this situation was entirely aimed at creating a perception. It was stated that at the basis of these claims is a simple typographical error experienced during the invoicing of the service provided within the scope of a special news report by a local newspaper. It was noted that this inadvertent error stemmed from a technical glitch during the invoice issuing phase and subsequently led to complete misunderstandings. According to the detailed information obtained, the actual amount, which was the equivalent of the work done for the newspaper, was only at the level of 15 thousand TL plus VAT. While this amount should have been invoiced as a total of 18 thousand TL including VAT, due to a technical error, 15 million TL was mistakenly written on the invoice instead of 15 thousand TL. This simple but effective error instantly reflected in the system records, causing the total amount to appear frighteningly as 18 million TL. Barış Yıldız stated with crystal clarity that immediately after this technical error was noticed, it was corrected by the newspaper owner and the collection was flawlessly carried out based on the real amount. However, it was claimed that despite this correction, the incorrect figure in the old records was leaked and turned into a rumor.

Continuing his statement, Barış Yıldız also drew attention to the current and past financial structure of the CHP Malatya İl Başkanlığı and clearly presented the figures. He emphasized that even the budget table for the last five years, including intensive election period expenditures and the purchase of vehicles belonging to the party, does not approach the figures in question. Despite this, he stated that making an announcement to the public unrealistically, as if there is a massive 18 million lira debt, is extremely wrong and not compatible with good faith. It was expressed that great sorrow was felt over the fact that the truth was not taken into consideration, even though the error was explained in detail during an official meeting attended by the newspaper owner and the financial advisor last week. It was noted that conducting a political perception operation based on such unfounded claims would serve no purpose other than harming the party.
