57 Suspects Arrested in Operation Conducted in Dhaka Tejgaon Zone

A comprehensive police operation has been conducted in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, with the aim of ensuring security and reducing crime rates. Teams from the Tejgaon Zone, affiliated with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), carried out simultaneous raids against various criminal hubs in the city. As a result of this extensive operation, a total of 57 suspects, who were wanted for various crimes and found to be involved in illegal activities, have been taken into custody. Authorities state that such operations are being carried out regularly to maintain public peace. The operation has once again demonstrated the determination of local security forces in the fight against crime.

According to information obtained from local police sources, the operations in question were carried out on Thursday (9 July). Security forces launched the operation by paying special attention to pre-identified areas with a high tendency for crime. Detailed searches and identity checks were conducted in neighborhoods located in the Tejgaon Zone that are considered risky in terms of security. During this systematic operation process, suspects who were known to have been involved in various crimes in the past or who had open files against them were identified one by one. It is reported that among the arrested suspects are a large number of gang members.

The 57 individuals arrested as part of the operation conducted were apprehended in the jurisdiction of various police stations operating in the area. Teams from the Tejgaon Police Station and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station captured seven suspects each in operations conducted within their respective areas. While a total of 17 people were taken into custody in Mohammadpur, one of the areas where the operation was most intense, 12 suspects were caught in the Adabor area. Additionally, Tejgaon Industrial Zone teams successfully took 4 individuals into custody, and teams attached to the Hatirjheel police station apprehended 10 suspects. This numerical distribution shows that the operation was conducted with a simultaneous and meticulous planning that covered the entire area.

The identities of the detained suspects have also been announced in detail by the authorities. According to police records, the ages of the apprehended individuals generally range from 18 to 50, with the majority being young adults. Among the suspects are numerous names such as Rubel, Rabiul, Mohsin, Emon, Zahidul, Rakib, and Alauddin. It has been determined that some of the arrested suspects used various aliases and nicknames utilized in the criminal underworld. Authorities emphasize that investigations will be deepened to completely dismantle the criminal networks these suspects were involved in the past.

Following the successful operation conducted by the security forces, legal processes have been started meticulously. In an official statement made by the Tejgaon Zone Police, it was reported that necessary legal actions have been initiated against all 57 detained suspects. After the completion of their interrogations, the suspects have been referred to the authorized court in the area. While the court will make decisions regarding the charges against each suspect in the future, the police are continuing the evidencing process. This operation has gone down as one of the important and decisive steps taken towards the goal of reducing crime rates across Dhaka.
