The International Football Federation (FIFA) has announced an exciting memorabilia project for the 2026 World Cup final, which will be played on Sunday, July 19. The grass of the New York-New Jersey Stadium, where the final will be held, has been put up for sale in official FIFA stores as collectible memorabilia. These unique products aim to allow football fans around the world to keep their piece of history alive in their homes. The grass patches will be carefully removed from the pitch after the match is completed and will go through a special process. Prices range from $450 to $3,000.

FIFA has planned a meticulous process to preserve and certify the authenticity of the grass patches. The pieces taken from the pitch after the final match ends will be encapsulated in resin to ensure their long-term preservation. Each piece will be delivered in an elegant acrylic box featuring the tournament logo and match information. Additionally, a USB flash drive containing a digital certificate proving the product's authenticity is included in the package. This way, collectors will be fully assured that the item they own is genuinely original.

The implementation phase of the project is carried out by the English company Keep Stub, which is experienced in producing collectibles. The product has been designed in four different versions, with each edition strictly limited to 2.0 pieces. The first three editions, referred to as editions, consist of 2.5-inch square grass patches. The highest-priced option, the 'Hero Edition', includes a larger grass patch alongside a series of special gifts. This luxury package contains a metal commemorative ticket with gold leaf data engraved on it, a miniature replica of the final ball, and a crystal trophy.

Sales are currently geographically limited; buyers can only purchase the products from the United States, the United Kingdom, and European countries. If all grass patches are sold, FIFA expects to generate approximately $11.2 million in revenue. This figure highlights how lucrative post-tournament marketing strategies can be. The fans' interest in this memorabilia will also make a significant contribution to the commercial success of the organization. However, geographical restrictions currently prevent potential buyers in other parts of the world from accessing these products.

The 2026 World Cup stands out as one of the most anticipated organizations in the football world, and the stadium where the final will be played will be at the center of this historic moment. FIFA's offering of grass patches for sale is a striking example of how modern sports marketing has become increasingly creative. For football fans, such memorabilia represents much more than just a piece of grass; it acts as a physical fragment of an era and an unforgettable match. The place of the collectible world in the sports industry is continuously expanding with such innovative products. The whole world is waiting with great excitement to see which two teams will make history on these legendary pitches on July 19.
