FETÖ Convict Caught in JASAT Operation in Gaziantep

With a successful operation carried out in Gaziantep, a person who was on the wanted list and was convicted of membership in a terrorist organization was caught and brought to justice. Teams of the Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command continue their efforts uninterruptedly under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to decipher terrorist organizations and prevent their activities. As a result of the intelligence work and technical surveillance carried out in this context, the residence or location of a person named H.Y., who had a final prison sentence of 6 years and 3 months for the crime of membership in the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization, was determined.

The targeted person was detained in a precise operation conducted by the Gendarmerie Special Security Teams (JASAT), subordinate to the Special Forces, in the Organized Industrial Zone in the İslahiye district of Gaziantep. It was stated that the operation was carried out in a planned and rapid manner to minimize the possibility of the person escaping and to ensure they were caught red-handed. As a result of the professional work of the JASAT teams, the convict was neutralized without any negativity, and necessary security measures were taken by the teams dispatched to the scene.

The detained H.Y. was referred to judicial authorities after the procedures at the gendarmerie headquarters were completed. The person, who appeared before a judge here, was decided to be arrested due to the final prison sentence found against them and the accusations within the file. Along with the arrest decision, the transfer process was initiated to deliver the convict to the prison they were found in, and they were sent to the penal institution to serve their prison sentence.

This event once again demonstrated how determined and effective the struggle of security units in Gaziantep province against terrorist organizations is. Gendarmerie teams are expanding and intensifying their operations day by day, especially to catch criminals who are wanted and have final prison sentences against them. While acting within legal frameworks during operations, intelligence and field work are carried out in an integrated manner for the capture of criminals.

The crime of membership in the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization carries serious sanctions under the laws in our country, and the deciphering of activities in this direction is prioritized by state units.
