Hong Kong DSE 2026 results announced: 24 students achieved the highest score

The results of the 2026 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination were announced on 15 July. This year, a total of 24 students, 14 of whom are boys and 10 are girls, obtained the 5** score, the highest grade in all exams, earning the title of "top scorer" (chuangyuan). This number became the record for the highest number of students achieving the top score in the exam's history, and the successful students came from 15 different schools.

This year, three schools produced students who achieved the highest score for the first time in their history. Cheng Yat-lik from Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School achieved 5** in six subjects, stating that he aims to study at a medical faculty. Wong Lok-yin from Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College in Tseung Kwan O achieved 5** in seven subjects and was deemed worthy of the title "super top scorer."

Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School also achieved this success for the first time with its student named 劉子湉 (Liu Zitian). Liu, who is studying in the field of science and is in a gifted student position, had skipped the sixth grade and moved to the seventh grade. He stated that he wants to study at his first-choice university, the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and pursue his career in Hong Kong in the future.
