Communications Director Duran condemned the attack in Şam with a harsh statement

Director of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye Burhanettin Duran issued an official condemnation statement regarding the attack that took place in Şam, the capital of Syria, described as inhumane. In the written statement made by the Presidency, it was stated that the attack was carried out in Şam's Hicaz region, emphasizing that such acts of violence can never be justified and must be regarded as acts of terrorism. It was expressed that such heinous attacks targeting civilian settlements not only cost the lives of innocent people but also deeply shake the atmosphere of peace and stability in the region. Duran, recalling Türkiye's determination in the fight against terror and violence once again in his message, stated that such attacks must be stood against and called on the international community.

The Hicaz region where the attack took place, being one of Şam's historic and densely populated districts, has created a profound atmosphere of fear and panic among the local population.
