The source of the incident was identified as a theft that occurred on 23 August 2024 at a residence in the town of Bassano del Grappa, located within the borders of the Republic of Italy. Comprehensive investigations conducted by the relevant authorities revealed that the stolen artworks were smuggled into Romanian territory through illegal means.
