Mazda CX-5 2026 in Mexico: Wider Interior and 6-Year Record Warranty

The third generation of Mazda's best-selling compact SUV model, the CX-5, has been introduced to the Mexican market. The new version of the vehicle, which has sold over five million units worldwide since 2012, adopts a design that is 11.5 centimeters longer and 1.3 centimeters wider than its predecessor. Thus, while its dimensions approach those of older sibling models like the CX-70 and CX-90, the vehicle successfully remains within its own class.

Mechanically, the vehicle is offered with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated SkyActiv-G gasoline engine producing 177 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission option. Despite electrification trends in the industry, Mazda has focused on improving interior quality, driving experience, and dimensions in this model. In the vehicle's interior, matte finishes bearing the traces of Japanese craftsmanship and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen stand out.

Offered for sale in the Mexican market with three different trim levels, the model's prices range between 599,900 and 719,900 Mexican Pesos (MXN). One of the most striking features of the vehicle is its six-year or 125,000-kilometer factory warranty, a first of its kind for the brand. The vehicle, which uses a McPherson front and multi-link rear suspension system, features comprehensive driving assistants for driver safety and attention monitoring.
