Morena members in Mexico launch early campaign for the 2027 elections

In Mexico, it was reported that more than 300 people from the ruling Morena party are conducting early campaign activities ahead of the elections to be held on June 6, 2027. It was stated that these individuals are trying to increase their visibility by organizing public events and distributing propaganda. Experts warn that the National Electoral Institute (INE) does not have the legislation to supervise these early political activities.

Experts point out that Morena has moved its candidate selection process forward by six months and is using this as a method to bypass the election law. It is noted that the party followed a similar strategy in the previous two election periods by using the title "4D Committee Coordinators". It is recorded that with this method, prospective candidates are active in the field for the 17 gubernatorial elections.

For example, it was reported that Andrea Chávez, running for the governorship of Chihuahua, used health service units with non-transparent resources in order to promote her image. Similarly, Rafael Marín Mollinedo, a candidate for the governorship of Quintana Roo, is also seen to have started fieldwork.
