2,16 TL Discount Coming to Diesel: New Prices Announced

Following the recent upward mobility in fuel prices, a concrete step has been taken that will relieve citizens using diesel. According to information obtained from sector sources, a discount of 2,16 TL per liter of diesel will be implemented starting from 11 Temmuz. This situation is welcomed especially by sector representatives who are struggling with transportation and logistics costs, as well as individual vehicle owners. The recent downward trend in Brent oil prices reflecting on pump prices in this manner has also positively affected general expectations in the market. Thus, citizens will have the opportunity to catch a relatively short break in fuel expenses, which have been running high for a certain period.

Brent oil prices, which had escalated a while ago due to geopolitical tensions between the USA and Iran, have recently started to follow a downward trend again. The barrel price of oil, which had risen to around 80 dolar levels, has currently fallen to the 75 dolar band. This decline in international markets stands out as a directly determining factor on fuel prices in our country. The reflection of every one-dolar movement in oil to the consumer, combined with the exchange rate and refinery costs, forms the final price.

After the expected discount is reflected at the pump, a significant drop in diesel prices is foreseen in metropolitan areas across different regions of Turkey. For example, the liter price of diesel in İstanbul is planned to drop to 67,72 TL. Similarly, prices in the capital Ankara are expected to decrease to 68,83 TL, and in İzmir to 69,10 TL. In Eastern provinces, a level of approximately 70,58 TL is expected to be seen. With this drop, diesel prices falling below 70 TL again after a long time in many provinces will bring significant relief in terms of costs for both individual drivers and commercial fleet operators.
