Intense Russian Attack on Odesa: 24-Story Building Damaged, 8 Injured

On the night of September 2, 2026, Russian forces launched an intense attack on Ukraine's port city of Odesa. According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the city military administration, 8 civilians were injured as a result of the attack, one of them a child. Two of the injured were hospitalized.

A 24-story residential building suffered severe damage, with apartments on several floors destroyed. Windows of surrounding buildings were shattered, and parked vehicles were damaged. Two educational institutions and office buildings were also devastated. Municipal crews and energy engineers continue to work in affected areas, restoring electricity distribution. Operational centers have been established to provide assistance to citizens.

This attack is the latest in a series of Russian operations targeting Odesa and its surroundings in recent weeks. Last week, attacks on border units and commercial warehouses in the region also resulted in damage and losses.
