Fire at Sucuk Factory in Organize Sanayi Bölgesi: Facility Turns to Rubble

A devastating fire broke out yesterday evening at a sucuk and meat processing factory operating in the Organize Sanayi Bölgesi. The fire, which was reported to have started for a reason that has not yet been fully determined, quickly could not be brought under control and spread rapidly to a large part of the facility. Upon notification of the incident, numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the area, and a large-scale intervention was initiated in the face of the gravity of the situation. The solar panels, which were especially installed on the roof of the building and met its electrical energy needs, largely burned down and became unusable due to the impact of the flames. The machines on the production lines, cold storage rooms, and the general infrastructure of the facility suffered serious damage due to high heat and water. Although it is difficult to express the financial magnitude of the damage with a clear figure at the moment, it is obvious that the factory management faces a loss of millions of liras. It is thought that the production capacity of the factory and the surrounding industrial facilities were also economically affected by this incident.

A comprehensive investigation has been launched by authorized firefighting teams to determine the exact cause of the fire and to uncover the details of the incident. Expert teams began collecting evidence after smoke evacuation operations and cooling efforts were completed in the completely ruined factory area. Whether the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, a malfunction in the equipment, or a different negligence will become clear as a result of laboratory examinations and field findings. Authorities emphasized that the work is meticulously continuing, the judicial and administrative process regarding the issue is being operated, and they will follow up on the matter.
