A Surprising Rival in Pedro Sánchez's Course: Intra-Party Conflict Among Madrid Socialists

An unexpected development occurred during the local election process of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in Spain's capital, Madrid, seriously shaking the intra-party balance. This situation, which has drawn strong backlash from the party's Secretary-General and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, increases the obstacles for Reyes Maroto, the official candidate for the Madrid Mayoralty.
