Riccione's Acrobatic Team Awarded 'World Ambassador' Title

Acrobatic Team Riccione (ATR) from the city of Riccione, Italy, has crowned a highly successful season by achieving a national sporting success and receiving a very important honorary award from the local administration. This historic club, which has been active uninterruptedly for 37 years and hosts over 400 athletes, was declared the "Ambassador of Riccione in the World" by Simone Imola, Director of Sports Affairs for the Municipality of Riccione. Presented to President and coach Giovanni Foschi, this special title led to the club being described as a cultural heritage that represents the city in the best way on the world stage, in addition to its international success in dance and gymnastics. This award is an official recognition that ATR is not just a sports club, but also assumes the role of a cultural ambassador carrying the values of Riccione society to the world.

This prestigious award is based on the victory the team achieved at the 32nd Italian Choreography Championships held in the city of Cervia in the past months. The organization, held on June 12-13 and combined with the 25th International Gymnastics Cup, hosted hundreds of athletes from different disciplines. Acrobatic Team Riccione took the stage with 16 different teams in this massive organization, displaying a serious show of strength. One of the most striking moments of the competition was the performance of the club's main choreography team. Consisting of 34 athletes aged between 8 and 30, this special team delivered a mesmerizing performance on stage with a structure blending young and experienced athletes.

Overcoming technical and artistic difficulties in their field performances, the team presented a visual feast to the audience. In their first series, the athletes performed the piece named "Sballo", inspired by the story of Pinocchio and embellished with joyful rhythmic movements, receiving full marks from both the jury and the audience. Then, the performance created by combining the works "Psyco" and "Child in Time" staged a heavier and more emotional message. This choreography was designed as a powerful metaphor criticizing the blind savagery of war and its aspects that harm humanity.

During the presentation of the anti-war themed piece, the stage underwent a transformation, especially with visual effects and high-difficulty gymnastics movements. The energetic and coordinated movements of the athletes developed within a dramatic atmosphere accompanied by music. The launch of the series performed during the final of the performance created a total wave of applause in the hall, proving once again that they are one of the strongest contenders for the championship. This show was a striking example of how perfectly physical abilities and artistic expression can come together.

Speaking at the ceremony, Simone Imola emphasized that the reason for giving this award was not only sporting success, but that the team represents intergenerational solidarity and cultural unity. Imola stated that everyone, from the youngest athletes to the most experienced coaches, carries the heart and name of Riccione far beyond its borders. Although the 'Italian Championship' and 'Ambassador' titles obtained by ATR increase the club's prestige in Italian sports, it was expressed that their real success lies in creating a healthy community consciousness. In this context, the club has risen to the position of not just a team winning medals, but also the most important window opening to the world for Italian sports and Riccione identity.
