River AI Receives $1.1 Billion Investment

River AI, a startup founded by xAI co-founder Igor Babuschkin, has received a $1.1 billion investment. The company plans to use this investment to expand its products that enable the development of personalized artificial intelligence models. River AI aims to redefine the artificial intelligence development process, from education to models, product layer to hardware. River AI provides an API that allows developers to perform reinforcement learning and LoRA-based fine-tuning on open-weight models. The company's long-term goal is to develop personal artificial intelligence agents that can be trained and controlled by users according to their needs. River AI CEO Igor Babuschkin previously worked at Google DeepMind on productive modeling and reinforcement learning. He then led large-scale model training processes at OpenAI and later joined the founding team of Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI.
