Fire in Agios Athanasios region in Thessaloniki: 112 emergency alert sent to citizens

Intervention is underway for a forest fire that broke out in the Agios Athanasios region of Thessaloniki, Greece. For the safety of the local population, the 112 message, Greece's official emergency warning system, was sent to citizens.

A large team is intervening to prevent the fire from spreading. 35 firefighters, 10 fire trucks, and 2 helicopters were dispatched to the scene. Extinguishing and security efforts in the region continue at full speed.
