Temperatures in most regions of Syria are following seasonal norms

According to official statements regarding the weekend weather across Syria, temperatures in the majority of the country are hovering around seasonal normals. According to data published by the Syria National Meteorological Center, daytime weather generally follows normal summer heat, transitioning from clear to partly cloudy skies. Due to clouding observed particularly in coastal areas and southern regions, there is a possibility of local and light precipitation. Warnings regarding dust and severe fog have been issued for the country's interior and eastern desert regions, and citizens have been urged to take precautions.

With the onset of night hours following sunset and the drop in air temperatures, generally cool and favorable weather conditions are expected to prevail. However, from late night until the first light of morning, there is a risk of light fog and mist formation, especially in the central regions and the Kalamun region, which will reduce visibility. Meteorology officials stated that such weather conditions could negatively affect driving safety in the morning for closed roads and transportation vehicles. It is important for those traveling in valleys and low areas where fog may intensify to use their vehicle headlights correctly and adhere to speed limits.

Regarding wind conditions, light to moderate winds blowing from westerly and southwesterly directions are expected across the country. However, in some regions, the intensity of this wind may increase, causing short-lived wind storms exceeding 65 kilometers per hour. It was stated that the wind will blow strongly, particularly in the central and eastern regions of the country and parts of the northwest and south, which may cause dust transport by lifting soil, dust, and sand into the air. Such weather conditions can have negative effects for those with allergic disorders and respiratory sensitivities; therefore, the use of masks is recommended.

In terms of sea conditions, it has been reported that the sea state along Syria's coastline will vary between light and moderate levels in terms of wave height. Mariners and fishermen have been called upon to avoid going out to the open sea with small boats, especially during hours when the wind intensifies, and to pay attention to safety measures. The meteorological center emphasized that there will be no significant change in air temperatures in the coming days, the current system will remain in effect for the next few days, and citizens need to follow current forecasts.

Looking at the temperature values received on the basis of city centers, it is predicted that the air temperature in the capital Şam will vary between 19 degrees and 35 degrees, while in Şam rural areas, including the Kalamun region, it will drop to 15 degrees at night and rise to 30 degrees during the day. While temperatures in the interior such as Hama and Humus hover in the 30s, a more moderate and balanced temperature view (25-31 degree range) will prevail in coastal cities like Lazkiye and Tartus. In contrast, in regions located in the east of the country such as Rakka, Deyr ez-Zor and Haseke where the desert climate is effective, it was stated that temperatures will rise above 40 degrees creating a very hot feeling, and accordingly, the risk of dust storms will also increase.
