Biological control against ticks and stink bugs from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will release 51 thousand partridges and pheasants into nature as part of biological control against pests such as ticks and the brown marmorated stink bug. In the project announced by Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, the birds will be released into 156 different regions located in 62 cities across the country. This initiative, which aims to support natural life, offers an eco-friendly method for controlling pests.

To ensure the sustainability of the project and the preservation of the natural balance, hunting restrictions will be imposed in the regions where the releases take place. These 156 regions will not be closed indefinitely, but will be completely closed to hunting for 3 years. This will allow the released birds to breed and multiply in nature, and to permanently balance the pest population.
