6 suspects detained in prostitution operation in 5 provinces centered around Tunceli

A large-scale prostitution operation centered around Tunceli and covering five different provinces has concluded. Simultaneous raids were carried out within the scope of the investigation regarding actions evaluated as organized crime activities. The fact that the operation was conducted in a coordinated manner in Tunceli and neighboring provinces demonstrated the determination in the fight against crime. Following the raids on addresses determined by intelligence work, many suspects were detained. All necessary procedures were applied for the process to be carried out meticulously by the judicial authorities and for evidence to be collected completely.

Following the completion of the suspects' procedures at the police station, they were referred to the judiciary. The suspects were brought before the duty magistrate's court with files including release requests prepared by the prosecution. In court, matters such as the nature of the crime, the strength of the collected evidence, and the suspects' positions at the time of the crime were examined in detail. The Penal Court of Peace rejected the requests for the release of the suspects following the questioning and examinations.

The Judge concluded that releasing the individuals under judicial control measures would be insufficient and that there was a possibility of new evidence being destroyed if the preoccupation with the incident continued. Accordingly, he ordered the arrest of the six suspects and their placement in prison. The detained individuals will continue to be tried on charges of organizing and mediating prostitution activities. The Court stated that detention was mandatory due to the formation of legal and factual conditions.
