August salaries paid in advance in Yunanistan: Payment dates announced

The Yunanistan Social Security Institution (EFKA) announced that August pensions will be paid on the last days of July, in accordance with the traditional schedule that has been applied in the country for a long time. Within the scope of this practice, different insurance branches, consisting of salaried and non-salaried workers, are categorized according to their own designated dates. Thus, pensioners can make their financial plans in advance with the amounts deposited into their bank accounts before the new month begins. In the official statement made by the Institution, it was emphasized that all payments will be deposited adhering to the determined schedule. This situation is of great importance for pensioners in Yunanistan, where economic mobility increases especially during the summer months.

According to the statement, pension payments will start to be deposited into the beneficiaries' bank accounts starting from the evening hours of the preceding business day. This early payment practice operates as a standard procedure that directly concerns millions of pensioners at certain intervals throughout the year, especially during monthly payment periods. It is aimed to distribute the payments in a planned manner so that pensioners are not victimized, and the relevant institutions are taking all necessary measures to ensure that no disruptions are experienced during this process. The Social Security Institution works in close coordination with the banks to ensure that the beneficiaries can access their money without facing any problems. Additionally, the principle of transparency is maintained by aiming to provide pensioners with timely information regarding payment dates.

When looking at the details of the payment schedule, main pensions (kürös syntaxeis) and auxiliary pensions (epikourikes syntaxeis) are deposited into accounts on different dates. The payments of those who retired from former institutions such as OAEE, OGA, and ETAA, which serve self-employed individuals and liberal professionals, will be carried out on Friday, 24 Temmuz. This group generally represents a large crowd of retirees from trade, agriculture, and liberal professions. On the other hand, the payments of those who retired from former IKA, public sector, banking, and telecommunications institutions, where salaried employees are affiliated, will be made on Tuesday, 28 Temmuz. This distinction stands out as a reflection of Yunanistan's historical social security structure.

A similar distinction is taken into account when planning payments for auxiliary pensions as well. Auxiliary pension payments for the private sector and self-employed individuals will also be deposited into accounts on Friday, 24 Temmuz. Auxiliary pensions for public sector (Demosiou) employees will be paid on the same day as the main pensions, which is Tuesday, 28 Temmuz. This arrangement ensures that both payment items are distributed simultaneously on the days determined by the institutions. Thus, pensioners can receive both their main and auxiliary pensions completely within the same period.

In general, the social security and pension system in Yunanistan has a complex but distinctly ruled structure formed by the amalgamation of numerous different sub-institutions.
