Car and Minibus Collided in Amasya: 1 Dead, 3 Injured

A tragic traffic accident occurred on an important road within the borders of Göynücek district of Amasya, which provides connection to the city center. The car with license plate 05 AFC 867 driven by Selami A. and the minibus with license plate 05 M 4515 under the control of İbrahim A. collided for an undetermined reason at the Gözlek village location. As a result of this severe collision, material damage occurred in the vehicles, and the most painful result of the accident was the death of Cafer Ak (55), who was a passenger in the car, at the scene. The severity of the accident and the sad news caused the traffic in the region to stop temporarily and mobilized the security forces.

Following the reporting of the accident news to the authorized units, numerous teams were dispatched to the region. AFAD teams were called to duty to coordinate at the scene and provide necessary first interventions, while gendarmerie forces started their investigations to ensure the safety of the road where the incident occurred. At the same time, fire crews continued their preparations with intervention equipment against situations where people might be trapped inside the vehicle and took precautions against possible fire risks. Health teams, who moved quickly upon the notice, arrived at the scene to get initial information about the condition of the injured and to perform emergency intervention.

Three people in the minibus, who were injured to varying degrees in the traffic accident, were taken to ambulances after initial treatments at the scene and were dispatched to the nearest health institutions. The injured named Halit B., Ahmet A. and Osman A. were hospitalized after the stabilization procedures meticulously performed by health personnel. Detailed information on whether the injured have life-threatening conditions will become clear after the examinations to be performed in hospitals. The rapid and coordinated work of the health teams at the scene ensured that the injured reached the hospital in the shortest time.

The body of Cafer Ak, who died in the accident, was taken to the hospital morgu in accordance with the protocol after the examinations of the public prosecutor and the completion of the work of the forensic medicine team. Autopsy procedures are planned to determine the exact cause of death of our citizen who lost his life. On the other hand, an investigation has been launched immediately by the gendarmerie teams regarding the accident. All details such as how the drivers of the vehicles were involved in the accident, whether there was a rule that was ignored, or whether the weather conditions had an effect will be meticulously examined and reported by the judicial authorities.

It is emphasized that road safety measures should be reviewed in order to prevent such accidents, and the impact of the event was met with sadness in the region.
