Seriously Injured in Bingöl Water Tanker Rollover Accident Loses Life

In a traffic accident that occurred near Kızılçubuk village, affiliated with the Karlıova district of Bingöl, a water tanker driven by a driver who lost control of the steering went off the road and overturned. Following the accident involving the tanker with license plate 07 EIP 53, initial reports indicated that two individuals sustained various injuries. Immediately after the accident, health and security teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams arriving at the region administered first aid to the injured at the scene. The two individuals injured in the accident were transported to the nearest hospital by ambulances after receiving emergency medical treatment at the scene. It was learned that the condition of Ömer Faruk Özçelik, one of the injured taken to the hospital, was very critical. Doctors made an intensive effort to resuscitate Özçelik and mobilized all medical facilities. Unfortunately, despite all interventions, Özçelik lost his fight for life and passed away. This bitter news plunged his relatives and loved ones into deep sorrow.

This tragic event that occurred revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident in the region belonged to a water tanker. It has not yet been clarified why the driver lost control of the steering. It was stated that during the examinations at the accident scene, factors such as road conditions, vehicle tires, and potentially adverse weather conditions were also evaluated. Experts frequently emphasize that the safety of life and property in the vicinity can be jeopardized in the event of such heavy-tonnage vehicles overturning. It is known that drivers of water tankers, which are frequently used in the agricultural and construction sectors, can suffer from fatigue due to long working hours.

Following the incident, law enforcement forces that arrived in the region launched a detailed investigation into the accident. Within the scope of the investigation, the technical condition of the vehicle is expected to be examined and the driver's statement is anticipated. Gendarmerie teams took additional measures to ensure traffic safety on the Karlıova-Kızılçubuk route where the accident occurred.
