Google restricts Meta's Gemini access, delaying AI projects

According to a Financial Times report, Google was unable to provide the full computing capacity Meta requested for its Gemini AI models, leading to usage restrictions. This caused delays in some of Meta's internal AI projects. Google noted that other customers were also affected, but Meta's demand was exceptionally high. Meta encouraged its employees to use AI tokens more efficiently. Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that computing power constraints hindered higher growth and contributed to a near doubling of the cloud unit's backlog quarter over quarter.
