Number of detentions in Gülistan Doku investigation rises to 17, emotional plea from mother Bedriye Doku

Another operation was conducted in the investigation regarding university student Gülistan Doku, who has been missing since 5 Ocak 2020 in Tunceli. In the operations coordinated by the Tunceli and Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, 2 more suspects were caught in addition to the 15 previously detained, bringing the total number of detentions to 17.

While the procedures for the suspects, who were referred to the courthouse, are ongoing, Bedriye Doku, the mother of Gülistan Doku, made a widely discussed plea addressing Handan Sonel, the wife of the former Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel. Stating that she wants her daughter's bones and a grave, the mother made an emotional demand for Handan Sonel to tell the prosecutor everything she saw.

The sister of the family, Aygül Doku, announced that the ongoing investigation continues with determination and that the third phase of operations will also take place. Furthermore, she stated that they will exercise their legal rights to the fullest extent against the baseless and tabloid claims made about Gülistan Doku on social media and some media outlets.
