Haluk Levent officially announced that he resigned from the Ahbap Presidency

Famous artist and founder of the social welfare association Ahbap, Haluk Levent, made an important decision regarding the legal processes and health condition that have been on the agenda for a long time. Levent, who was tried by the court as a result of the legal process known publicly as the 'Check' case and decided to be sentenced to a judicial fine of 70 million TL, made a press statement based on the legal and moral consequences of this decision. The artist stated that he informed the Ahbap High Advisory Council, which he convened, in order to prevent the possible negative effects that the legal processes he experienced might create on the work of the Ahbap association and public opinion.

According to the written statement made, it was predicted that difficulties might arise in the use of duties and powers regarding the activities carried out by the association during the supervised probation period that will start after the completion of Haluk Levent's legal process. In this context, a decision was made in accordance with the association's bylaws and relevant regulations, based on the evaluations made by the Ahbap High Advisory Council and Levent's own request. As a result of this decision, it became definitive that Haluk Levent would resign from the Ahbap Association Presidency, effective from the date the supervision process began. This development means opening a new page for the artist in terms of both facing his legal situation and the future of the association.

In his statement detailing his emotions and the justification for the decision, Haluk Levent emphasized that Ahbap aims to become a big family that stands on its own feet, completes its corporate identity, and runs with voluntary love, rather than a structure shaped around a founding personality. In line with this goal, he stated that such a decision was necessary in order not to allow the legal processes he personally experienced to cast a shadow on the corporate identity, transparency, and reputation of the association. He expressed his confidence and support for Ahbap's future, stating that he considered stepping back to prevent harm to the institution during this process as a conscientious duty.

In the statement made, it was also shared that the Ahbap High Advisory Council held an intense consultation meeting lasting approximately 7 hours upon Haluk Levent's request. At the meeting, Levent's legal situation and his responsibilities in the executive bodies of the association, as well as the future of the association within the framework of the principle of transparency, were discussed. As a result of the negotiations, it was announced that Ahmet Ünlütürk, who has the highest level of representativeness and is known for his corporate reliability and social respectability, was unanimously nominated for the Ahbap Presidency. This change indicates that the leadership structure within the association has transformed and corporate sustainability is kept at the forefront.

Finally, in his statement addressed to Ahbap volunteers and the public, Haluk Levent reminded everyone that the association's corporate identity and voluntary structure are the most important values, and that this structure is not limited to the existence of a single person. While it was stated that the decision was made to hand over the General Presidency duty to Ahmet Ünlütürk, it was understood that Levent's place and acceptance within the Ahbap community have not changed, but he left his management duty as a matter of courtesy due to the legal process.
