As a result of a comprehensive operation conducted by the Istanbul Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı against the terrorist organization DEAŞ, legal procedures have been completed for 39 suspects taken into custody. Following detailed investigations and questioning processes within the scope of the inquiry, it was decided to bring the suspects before a judge. Operations carried out by law enforcement aim to strike a blow against the organization's structure within the country and reveal its activities. The Istanbul-based efforts highlight the intelligence success of the security units.

Following the interrogation by the judgeship, it was decided to arrest 17 of the 39 suspects in custody, and they have been sent to prison. Evidence regarding the roles of the detained suspects within the organization and their legal status was found strong. Factors such as the identification of the suspects' contacts with the organization and the risk of flight were influential in the decision for detention. While the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office continues in depth, preparations for detailed files regarding the crimes attributed to the detained defendants are ongoing. This development indicates that a serious process is underway in the field of counter-terrorism.

Regarding the other 22 suspects detained in the operation, it was decided to release them under the implementation of judicial control measures. These suspects have been subjected to restrictions such as overseas travel bans and signature requirements to ensure the continuation of the investigation. The release is considered due to the fact that some of these suspects were lower in the organization's hierarchy or lacked sufficient evidence of involvement in operational activities. However, these individuals will remain under observation throughout the investigation and their status will be re-evaluated in light of new developments.

Such operations against the DEAŞ terrorist organization are expected to continue at periodic intervals across the country, especially in major metropolises like Istanbul. Security sources continue their work without interruption to decrypt the organization's cells in different cities and to prevent new action plans. Increased coordination between intelligence units and law enforcement agencies plays a critical role in raising the desired success rate. Thanks to the awareness and tips of citizens, it is known that efforts to recruit people into the organization can be prevented and potential risks minimized.

These operations carried out within the scope of the fight against terrorism are conducted meticulously within the framework of the rule of law and with respect for human rights. While the rights of suspects are protected within legal procedures, ensuring the security of society remains among the primary duties of the state. The detentions are predicted to have a deterrent effect on the organization's members and be effective in stopping their activities. It is stated that the scope of the operation could be expanded by examining other aspects of the investigation and details such as the organization's financial resources.
