In Keşmir, politicians criticized for being disconnected from the public and ignoring local issues

Despite a relative improvement in the security situation, the disconnect of Keşmir politicians from the public and the voters who elected them has become a major subject of criticism. There is a growing perception that mainstream politics in the region focuses on international issues that have no direct bearing on their own lives, rather than solving the daily problems of ordinary citizens.
