Drug Operation in Küçükçekmece: Suspect Caught with 81 Cartridges Arrested

Teams from the Küçükçekmece District Police Department Public Security Bureau launched a comprehensive operation targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking within the district. In this context, an address located in Tevfikbey Mahallesi, where suspicious activity was detected, was closely monitored by police teams. Following a prolonged period of both technical and physical surveillance at the address, a detailed operational plan was formulated based on gathered intelligence and obtained information. Following a search warrant obtained under the prosecutor's directive, police teams raided the identified address. During this comprehensive search, a total of 81 pieces of drugs, carefully packaged and ready for sale, known in street slang as "cartridges," were seized. During the raid on the residence, a 48-year-old suspect named A.G., who was present in the dwelling, was immediately apprehended by security forces upon identification of the situation. The detained individual was transferred to the Küçükçekmece District Police Department for interrogation and identification procedures. Official judicial proceedings were initiated against the suspect on charges of "trafficking drugs or stimulants," and his statement was taken and recorded during the interrogation at the police station. After the procedures were completed, the suspect, who was referred to the judicial authorities, was brought before the on-duty duty magistrate court. At the address where the operation took place, not only drugs were found; the teams also seized 2 bin 400 Türk Lirası in cash from the suspect and the residence, which is strongly believed to have been obtained from drug trafficking. This money was taken under investigation for account movements, as it was assessed to carry the nature of black money and be the income of illegal trade. Additionally, other evidentiary materials found during the searches at the residence, which would expand the investigation, were secured and recorded. Finding financial records in such operations that demonstrate the market value and turnover of sellers also expands the scope of the investigation. Police officials, who made statements regarding the matter, stated that activities aimed at completely preventing drug trade in the area where the operation was conducted are being carried out with determination and without interruption. It was stated that cracking down on such traders who target the youth is of great importance for public peace.
