Support live broadcast held for DMD patient Metehan in Kütahya

A special live broadcast program was organized by Kütahya Ekspres Haber to support little Metehan Selvi, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Starting at the news center studios under the moderation of Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Cin, the program quickly turned into a great example of interest and solidarity. Alongside Metehan's parents, Kadir and Ümran Selvi, many volunteers who were not indifferent to the cause participated in the program. It was emphasized that the aim was to raise the financial resources necessary for the child's treatment process and to contribute to public awareness. Throughout the live broadcast, philanthropic citizens called in via phone connections and announced their donations one by one on the live broadcast.

One of the most striking moments of the program was the unique sacrifices made by people from different age and income groups. A philanthropist who preferred to remain anonymous donating a large sum of 50 thousand liras showed that the campaign had reached a serious level. However, the truly emotional moment during the broadcast occurred when a mere 12-year-old student donated 500 liras that he had saved from his own pocket money. This situation revealed that people from all walks of life mobilized for little Metehan to regain his health. The broadcast carried great significance in proving to all viewers how strong the spirit of helping and solidarity in society is.

During the live broadcast, the transparency of the campaign and the fate of the collected donations were also discussed in detail. Father Kadir Selvi made important statements regarding the status of the money collected in donation boxes and bazaars, which is the most wondered topic among the Kütahya public. Selvi tried to ensure trust by stating that a commission was formed during this process and that people outside the family collected and counted the donation boxes. He stated that the collected money was immediately deposited into the bank and that additional support was provided through a special institution. He conveyed the entire process to the viewers transparently by emphasizing that every stage of these processes was officially recorded and open to audit.

Father Kadir Selvi also used very clear statements to eliminate the question marks in the public's mind regarding bank accounts. Stating that they have meticulously filed all the receipts for the money deposited into the bank to date and that they are subject to audit, he outlined the legal framework of the process. By noting that as a family, they do not even have the authority to intervene in the bank accounts or view the account balance, he left no room for possible bullying and rumors. He explained that no information is given by the bank to unauthorized individuals and that this situation is actually for the security of the donations. These statements aimed to reassure citizens who wanted to support the campaign but had hesitations.

Kütahya Muhtarlar Derneği Başkanı İsmail Arı also joined the live broadcast and announced that support activities across the city continue uninterruptedly. Stating that the campaigns and bazaars in the neighborhoods are continuing at full speed for Metehan to regain his health, he emphasized that public support is not limited to just one point. Arı, expressing that Metehan has not been alone since the very first day and that the entire Kütahya public is by his side with their prayers, stated that the public has not remained indifferent. In addition, connecting to the live broadcast from Bilecik's Bozüyük district and the consecutive support calls coming in showed that the solidarity transcended provincial borders. All these efforts and the common call of philanthropic citizens united with the hope that the little child regains his health as soon as possible.
