Russia Attacks Gas Station in Kharkiv Again: Fire Breaks Out

Russian forces launched a new drone attack targeting a gas station in the strategically important city of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine. Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Sinehubov, warned the public against this latest attack in a statement made on his social media accounts. It was reported that a large fire broke out at the gas station as a result of the attack, and numerous rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. It was learned that local residents are in a state of panic and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. There is currently no information regarding any casualties or injuries announced by an official source.

This incident occurred at approximately 16:45 local time in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. Allegedly, an unmanned aerial vehicle operated by Russia successfully identified its target with great precision and directly struck the gas station. Immediately after the impact, the fuel at the station ignited, causing the flames to grow and spread to the surroundings. Emergency teams quickly arrived at the area to extinguish the fire and prevent possible secondary explosions. Authorities believe the attack aimed to weaken the regional infrastructure.

This attack stands out as part of Russia's continuous attrition tactics targeting Kharkiv. Since the start of the war, the border city of Kharkiv has been subjected to intense bombardment, resulting in extensive damage to civilian settlements. In particular, energy infrastructure and facilities meeting the basic needs of the public are frequently targeted strategically. Such attacks are planned to complicate the city's defense and undermine the morale of the civilian population. The international community considers these attacks on civilian infrastructure as violations of international law and condemns them. Meanwhile, in statements made by officials, it was noted that the same gas station located on Klochkivska Street had been attacked twice before. In the attacks occurring on previous days, it was recorded that Russia struck the exact same point twice without missing its target. This situation is interpreted as the Russian army using intelligence information to target specific points of vulnerability. These recurring attacks further increase the responsibility of the security forces and rescue teams in the region. The people of Kharkiv, on the other hand, continue to remain vulnerable to these recurring tragedies.

The Ukrainian government is calling on the international community to take further action against these barbaric attacks. The Kharkiv Regional Administration is warning the public to stay away from open areas and to head to shelters in case of an emergency.
