In an operation conducted in Sakarya, illicit alcohol and smuggled products were seized

A large-scale operation targeting the production and trade of illicit and fake alcohol was conducted in the Adapazarı district of Sakarya. The operation was carried out under the coordination of the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and as a result of the meticulous work of the Sakarya Police Department Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams. This effort aimed to prevent illegal activities threatening public health in the region and causing financial losses. Based on intelligence gathered by security forces, operations focused on a specific target. Teams conducted detailed searches at the business premises and vehicle used by the suspect.

In the searches, a significant amount of materials prepared for use in the production of illicit alcohol were found by security forces. Scans of the suspect's workplace and vehicle resulted in the seizure of 490 liters of ethyl alcohol, weighing 2 tons, intended for making fake and illegal alcohol. In addition, 1,168 flavor-enhancing kits, which are among the basic elements of counterfeit drink production and were supplied to the market, were seized by the police. These kits played a critical role in making illegal alcohol marketable. Within the scope of the operation, products hidden under different brands and determined to have been imported in violation of customs regulations were also found.

During the searches carried out by security forces, not only materials for making alcoholic beverages were found, but other illegal products were also identified. In inspections of areas belonging to the suspect, 315 smuggled adult products of various brands were found. It was understood that these products were attempted to be released to the market without following legal procedures. All seized materials were removed to police warehouses for necessary examinations as they serve as evidence. The operation dealt a serious blow to the commercial activities of the person concerned.

The individual at the center of the operation, Y.Ç., was caught red-handed and taken into custody. The 53-year-old suspect is awaiting his statement to be taken at the police department as part of the judicial process initiated against him. Y.Ç.'s activities, evaluated within the scope of smuggling and organized crimes, will be referred to judicial authorities after the completion of necessary legal procedures. The investigation will be deepened to determine whether the suspect acted alone in this organization or if it is part of a larger network. The police continue their work to fully illuminate the incident and prevent similar activities.

Such operations are considered only a part of the determined struggle against smuggling in Sakarya and other provinces. Since the use of fake and illegal alcohol poses vital dangers to human health, security units attach special importance to the issue.
