1 person killed, 3 injured as car plunges into embankment in Sivas's Kangal district

It was learned that among the injured were the 46-year-old driver Uğur Akyar and a 24-year-old individual named Demet. Following the initial interventions, the injured were transferred to fully equipped hospitals in the vicinity by ambulances. While the treatment of the hospitalized injured continues, it was reported that their conditions are stable and they are not in life-threatening danger.

Regarding the accident, Sivas Jandarma Komutanlığı teams have launched a comprehensive investigation. The teams, who secured the scene with a security perimeter and conducted examinations, are carrying out a detailed study to determine why the vehicle went out of control. Authorities are investigating whether weather conditions, road structure, or driver error caused the accident. The road was reopened to traffic after the vehicle was removed from the scene using cranes and tow trucks. It was announced that a large-scale judicial and administrative investigation is being conducted regarding the matter.

Following the necessary examinations by the prosecutor's office and the forensic medicine institution, the body of Derya Kaya Akyar, who lost her life, was handed over to her family. The grief of the casualties, who are from the same family, is being deeply felt by their relatives and loved ones. It was learned that the funeral will be buried in the Kangal district or at a location preferred by the family after the procedures are completed. Such painful events once again highlight how crucial traffic rules and driver attention are, especially in situations where families are traveling together. Local people also offered their condolences to the casualties.
