Venezuela announced that it offered help following the earthquake in Peru

Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Félix Plasencia published a message of solidarity with the people of the country following the earthquake that occurred in Peru. In his statement on the social media platform X, Plasencia stated that they are fully ready to cooperate with the Peruvian government during this difficult period and that they are determined to maintain their fraternal ties.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred in the Junín region, located in the Central Andes. In the incident, where an aftershock of 3.7 magnitude was also experienced, at least 6 people lost their lives and more than 30 people were injured according to official sources. Chongos Bajo district, the place where the earthquake caused the most damage, is located approximately 300 kilometers east of Lima.

While the tremors caused severe damage to residential homes, health facilities, and tourist infrastructure in the region, they also caused damage to power lines. The epicenter of the earthquake, recorded at 21:24 local time on Saturday, was announced as 7 kilometers south of Chongos Bajo. Venezuela's willingness to provide external support following the earthquake set an example of diplomatic solidarity between countries.
