5.5 magnitude earthquake struck in Afganistan

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in northeastern Afganistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was determined to be a mountainous region in the northeastern part of the country. The tremor was also felt in surrounding provinces and caused brief panic among the public. So far, no official statement has been made regarding loss of life or property. Authorities reported that damage assessment efforts are continuing in the region.
