Elderly Woman Trapped Under Concrete Mixer in Aydın Loses Her Life

Feriştah Kaya, who wanted to cross the road as a pedestrian, was severely injured as a result of being hit by a concrete mixer with the license plate 09 AOS 509, driven by a person named D.Y. Upon nearby citizens and authorities immediately noticing the situation, rescue teams were dispatched to the area rapidly. However, without the need for a prolonged medical intervention at the scene, it was unfortunately determined that the woman had passed away. Following the completion of the prosecutor's examinations at the scene, Feriştah Kaya's lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy procedures.

In the camera recordings, it is understood that the elderly woman took her steps to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. Those terrifying seconds when the vehicle instantly crushes the pedestrian with its massive structure are reflected on the screens with full reality. Within the scope of the said investigation, the driver of the concrete mixer was taken to the gendarmerie station to have his statement taken, and the necessary processes were initiated to examine the technical specifications and braking system of the vehicle. Authorities stated that it is also being investigated whether the vehicle is rented or owned by a company, and that work has been initiated to take additional safety measures at the intersection where the incident occurred.
