Three New Automobile Bridges Are Being Constructed in Bakü's Karadağ District

In order to strengthen the transportation infrastructure in the Karadağ district of Azerbaijan's capital, Bakü, new automobile bridges are being constructed on three different road routes. A statement was made regarding these projects through the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency (AAYDA). Agency officials stated that all three bridges are designed as single-span (single-arch) and are being implemented in compliance with modern engineering standards. It is expressed that these new bridges will significantly ease the traffic flow in the region and provide a much safer travel opportunity for drivers. The progress stages of these investments, which are of critical importance for the local population and intercity transportation, were also shared in detail.

The first of the bridges being constructed is located within the borders of the Gobustan settlement, at the 55th kilometer of the Bakı-Alet-Kazak-Gürcistan state border automobile road. Since this route is of great importance for international transportation, it is aimed to make transportation in the region uninterrupted. According to the statement made by the officials, the construction works of this bridge have currently reached the final stage. The teams are continuing an intensive preparation process for pouring the asphalt-concrete pavement of the bridge. This bridge, which is planned to be completely finished and opened to traffic in the near future, will help accelerate transit transportation in the region.

The second bridge project involves an intensive construction process continuing at the 13th kilometer of the Sangaçal-Çeyildağ automobile road. In the works carried out on this route, the foundation laying stages are being carried out with great care. Engineering teams have successfully completed the pile driving process into the ground in order to build the bridge piers on a solid foundation. Currently, comprehensive preparations are being made for pouring the foundation concrete. The meticulous completion of these stages is of great importance in terms of guaranteeing that the bridge will be long-lasting and resistant to natural conditions.

The third bridge, whose construction is ongoing at the 2,2nd kilometer of the Lökbatan-Güzdək automobile road, focuses on improving regional transportation. In this bridge construction, the construction of the first abutment (edge support) continues without slowing down. At the same time, the foundation infrastructure and reinforced concrete works of the other abutment have been completed. After the supporting structures of both sides are finished, the assembly of the main carrying systems of the bridge will begin. In this context, the progress of the project in accordance with the planned schedule will greatly facilitate the road transportation of citizens traveling between Lökbatan and Güzdək.

The common goal of all these projects is to bring Azerbaijan's road networks in line with modern international construction norms and standards. When the new bridges are opened for use, the traffic arrangement in the relevant road sections will be organized in a much more comfortable, fluid, and safe manner. Particularly, potential negativities that may occur during the passages of heavy-tonnage vehicles and intercity buses will be eliminated with these structures. The Azerbaijan State Automobile Roads Agency emphasizes that it continues its strategic investments aimed at strengthening the transportation infrastructure across the country without interruption. These projects will not only ease transportation but also make significant contributions to the economic and social development of the Karadağ district and surrounding regions.
