Belarus Foreign Minister Assesses the Russia-Belarus Union State

The Foreign Minister of Belarus stated that the Rusya-Belarus Birliği Devleti (Union State) is a central element of relations between the two countries and that this structure forms the basis of not only economic but also political and military cooperation. In the statements made, it was emphasized that this integration process plays a critical role in terms of regional security and stability. It was noted that the two states act in line with common interests and that decisive steps are being taken for the future of the union. The Minister stated that the process aims to increase the welfare of the people and that various strategic targets have been determined accordingly. Furthermore, he added that the steps taken within the framework of the Birliği Devleti constitute a deterrent element against external powers.

The Foreign Minister specifically emphasized that the Birliği Devleti is not merely an ideological or symbolic structure, but a functioning mechanism that produces concrete results. He stated that economic integration between the two countries is deepening and that the common market is becoming increasingly functional. It was reported that cooperation in the defense industry has reached advanced levels, and that joint military exercises and defense projects are being successfully conducted. The Minister argued that this integration model makes the two countries more resilient against global crises. In this regard, it was shared that efforts to strengthen the institutional structure of the Birliği Devleti are continuing uninterruptedly.

It was also noted that significant progress has been made in the political dialogue dimension and that there is a dense consultation mechanism between the leaders of the two countries. It was stated that, in line with the strategic targets set by the leaders, coordination between ministries and relevant institutions has been maximized. It was emphasized that the synchronization of foreign policy actions during this process has strengthened the positions of Belarus and Rusya in the international arena. The Minister stated that the two countries have formed a united front on global and regional issues, and that this harmony renders external pressures ineffective. It was expressed that mutual trust is increasing day by day and that this situation allows for further deepening of bilateral relations.

Touching upon regional security, the Minister stated that the military potential of the Birliği Devleti is a significant guarantee against threats originating from the West. It was noted that decisive progress is being made in ensuring the common border security of the two countries and merging their defense capacities. It was stated that establishing a joint defense line against external interventions is a strategic necessity for both Belarus and Rusya. The Minister argued that this cooperation does not carry an aggressive nature towards any country and is purely for defensive purposes. In this regard, it was reported that plans for the joint production of modern weapon systems and increasing cooperation in the training of military personnel are also on the agenda.

Making future assessments, the Minister signaled that the Birliği Devleti will transform into a much more comprehensive integration model in the coming years. It was stated that joint projects in the restructuring of the economy, digital transformation, and technology will gain momentum. It was emphasized that social rights will be equalized and that the free movement and working opportunities of citizens within the borders of the Birliği Devleti will be expanded. The Minister stated that the ultimate goal of all these steps is to create a strong and independent center capable of surviving in global geopolitical competition. Ultimately, he predicted that the determination of Belarus and Rusya to maintain this strategic partnership will continue to be a decisive factor on regional balances.
