Broadcom announced artificial intelligence infrastructure and security solutions for enterprise customers at the VMware Explore 2026 conference in Las Vegas. The company introduced a new AI infrastructure package called "VMware AI Factory" built on VMware Cloud Foundation. This solution aims to reduce the time from bare-metal servers to first AI model deployment from weeks to hours.
AI Factory is compatible with NVIDIA and AMD accelerators and certified on Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, and Supermicro servers. It supports over 150 commercial and open-source AI models. Broadcom also launched a traffic controller named "AgentMinder" to secure AI agents. The tool verifies agent identities and authorizes actions in real-time. Broadcom manages 43 million API calls per day internally with this system.
The security portfolio was also expanded: "Agentic Threat Defense" will be added to Avi Load Balancer, and vDefend's zero-trust approach will be extended to agent-based workloads. The Tanzu platform will gain agent-based AI capabilities in 2026. Two new services were launched for the open-source ecosystem: "TrueSource Trusted Artifacts" and "TrueSource Data Services".
