Elderly Woman Found Dead in Bathroom in Burdur, Autopsy to be Performed

The tragic incident that took place in Emek Mahallesi, affiliated with the center of Burdur, deeply shook the local residents. A.Ç, a 90-year-old woman residing on the second floor of a four-story apartment building located on Turgut Reis Sokak, lost her life. At the time of the incident, the elderly woman's husband M.Ç., who was alone at home, had left the house to go shopping during the day. Upon his return, M.Ç., concerned about his wife, went to the bathroom and noticed his wife lying in an unstable state, realizing the gravity of the situation immediately.

Noticing the situation, M.Ç. immediately called the 112 Emergency Call Center and requested help from health teams. Upon the notice, both health teams and security forces were dispatched to the scene. Paramedic teams, who arrived at the address in a short time, unfortunately determined in their initial physical checks that the 90-year-old woman had lost her life. Despite the necessary interventions by the health team, it was confirmed that the elderly woman had passed away irreversibly.

Following the incident, police teams arriving at the scene began their examinations by taking extensive security measures in the apartment. After the investigation and evaluation by the public prosecutor at the scene, the body was taken to the morgue to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities stated that the results of the detailed autopsy and forensic examination to be performed to clarify the cause of death must be awaited.

With the spread of the sad news throughout the neighborhood, A.Ç.'s family and local residents were plunged into grief. Neighbors who have known the Çifti couple, who have lived in the same neighborhood for years, flocked to the house to convey their condolences. Police teams continue their meticulous investigations both inside the apartment and around the building to understand if the incident points to a suspicious situation.
