Drug Operation in Hakkâri Yüksekova Seizes 57 Kilos of Skunk

Hakkâri İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü teams carried out a major operation in the Yüksekova district as part of their efforts against drug trafficking. According to a statement from the İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü, Narkotik Suçlarla Mücadele Şube Müdürlüğü teams gathered intelligence on individuals manufacturing and trading drugs or stimulants in the region. As a result of long-standing technical and physical surveillance efforts, a suspicious vehicle was identified. The movements of this vehicle were closely monitored to determine the most appropriate time for the operation. Security forces made a meticulous plan to prevent illegal drug trafficking and proceeded to the stage of stopping the vehicle. The amount of seized substances revealed how serious a blow the operation dealt to the drug networks in the region.

On 8 Temmuz 2026, the teams stopped the suspicious vehicle in the Yüksekova district and conducted a comprehensive search. During the search, a total of 57 kilos and 200 grams of skunk, carefully packaged in 90 separate pieces, was seized. This amount stood out as a remarkable quantity among the recent operations carried out in the region. The drug was found hidden inside the vehicle, ensuring the successful conclusion of the operation. Along with the seized skunk, the suspect found in the vehicle was immediately taken into custody and placed under security protection.
