Mother and father of the Kahramanmaraş school attacker to be tried

The indictment prepared regarding the armed attack at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş, which resulted in the deaths of 9 students and 1 teacher, and the injury of 15 students, was accepted by the court. Thus, the trial process of the attacker's mother and father has officially begun.

A lawsuit was filed against the father Uğur Mersinli and the mother Peyman Pınar Mersinli, who were detained and arrested after the incident, for various crimes. While the indictment includes charges of 'possible intent to kill' and violation of the gun law against the father, the mother was charged with 'causing death and injury by conscious negligence'.

The Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which completed the investigation process, announced that the case will be heard at the Kahramanmaraş 3rd Heavy Penal Court. The trial process of the defendants began with the court's acceptance of the indictment.
